Fight Week 7/10-7/15
Fight fans are treated to four big cards this week. The action kicks off Wednesday night in a familiar location. Plant City, Florida, for the return of the PROBOX TV Series. A loaded card with four highly touted undefeated fighters taking on difficult opponents. Guatemalan KO artist Lester Martinez returns to the ring and puts his 15-0 (13), record on the line against Lucas de Abreu, 14-3 (11), de Abreu has been in the ring with the likes of Diego Pacheco and most recently Darrelle Valsaint as apart of the PROBOX TV series. Also on the card is the undefeated older brother of Keyshawn Davis, Kelvin Davis 8-0(5), Fan favorite puerto rican boxer-puncher Najee Lopez 6-0(5), who will also be on the card as he takes on rigged Philly-based veteran Christopher Brooker. 8-0 (6), Puerto Rican lightweight Julio Solis will also be in action in an 8-round attraction.
The action moves across the pond to the UK as Josh Kelly, 13-1-1(7), looks to stay hot following his one-sided beatdown of Troy Williamson and get back into the world title picture as he battles undefeated super welterweight Gabriel Alberto Corzo, 18-0 (3) of Argentina. In the undercard, Qais Ashfaq, 12-1 (5), battles Liam Dillon, 12-0-1 (3), of London, England.
The action moves back to the USA, Motor City, Detroit, as Alycia Baumgardner, 14-1 (7), puts all of the super featherweight belts on the line against Christina Linardatou, 14-2 (6). On the undercard two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Andy Cruz of Cuba makes his highly anticipated professional debut. He battles Juan Carlos Burgos. Burgos has been tested by the likes of Hector Tanajara, Devin Haney, and Xavier Martinez. He should be a decent challenge for Cruz's professional debut. Also on the card is heavyweight Jermaine Franklin Jr, 21-2 (14), who battles Isaac Munoz in a 10-round affair.
The weekend's action concludes in Las Vegas at the Cosmopolitan with a battle of unbeaten lightweights. Frank Martin, 17-0 (12), battles Artem Harutyunyan, 12-0 (7), in the weekend's biggest and most intriguing fight. A loaded undercard features former jr welterweight champion Viktor Postol 31-4 (12), which will mark the biggest challenge of Elvis Rodriguez's young career. Rodriguez sports a 14-1-1(12) record and is coming off a points victory over Joey Adorno back in February. Also on the card is slickster Quinton Randall, 12-0-1 (3), of Houston, Texas will step in with Willie Jones, 9-2(6), who is coming off a shocking first-round KO of "Diesel" Derrick Jones back in February at the Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
