WBSS Season One runner-up and former unified cruiserweight champ Murat Gassiev is reportedly close to signing a deal with DAZN, where he’ll campaign as a heavyweight. Gassiev is just 25-years-old and has compiled a record of 26-1 (19), his lone loss came to the hands of Olexsandr Usyk in the WBSS finals. Iron has not fought since. Prior to the bout with Usyk, Gassiev was an emerging star with big-time victories over Isiah Thomas, Jordan Shimmell, Denis Lebedev, Krzysztof Wlodarczyk, and Yunier Dorticos. Prior to the battle for undisputed cruiserweight supremacy 3DBoxing predicted both Usyk and Gassiev would go on to capture heavyweight straps at some point in their career. The prediction is now at least possible with both fighters moving to the heavyweight division.
