Andrade calls out GGG- Demetrius Andrade put on a masterful display of the sweet science at Madison Square Garden this past Friday. Andrade was asked who he would like to fight next? He named former unified champ Gennady Golovkin. When asked about a potential fight with Billy Joe Saunders, a fight that was scheduled and then called off after Saunders tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, Andrade responded with a sharp “you heard who I called out” meaning Golovkin. again during the post-fight press conference following Andrade’s victory over Artur Akavov, the Rhode Island native doubled down saying “I would go up to 168 for a big fight as I want the big names. Eddie Hearn is making these big fights happen and I want to be in them.“I would love to fight GGG (Gennady Golovkin) next if that fight can happen. I just want to fight the big names of the division and prove that I am the number one fighter in the middleweight division.” Eddie Hearn repeated Andrade’s sentiments and talked about his desire to get Andrade in big fights with the top names.
Tank calls out Pac Man- Manny Pacquiao put on a masterful performance in outclassing Adrien Broner. He had little problem with “The Problem”. Pacquiao looked a lot like his younger self, especially through the first nine rounds, proving he is still a threat and still a draw. He will be at no shortage for possible opponents, countless welterweights will certainly want to cash in on the Pacquiao sweepstakes. Count a Super Featherweight into that discussion, Gervonta “Tank” Davis tweeted out “I want to fight Pac man next. I’m calling AL Tmrw” immediately following Pacquiao’s lopsided unanimous decision victory. This is intriguing for a number of reasons, Tank has a fight scheduled a big fight against a really tough challenger in former multi-division world champ Abner Mares. Davis is also trained by Kevin Cunningham, Cunningham also trains Broner who looked woefully outmatched against Pac. Was, AB simply unable or unwilling to execute the game plan? Did Davis see something in Pac’s impressive win? Tank is also busy fighting featherweights, his last two opponents have been blown up smaller men, would he really fight a much bigger man?. Pacquiao made a legacy out of knocking out and walking threw bigger veterans, is that what Tank is looking to do? Is he looking to become the new Manny Pacquiao?

Pacquiao himself has finally weighed in saying the injury happened after his eyeball was scratched by Broner’s glove and that it’s just a scratch and that it will heal after three to four days.”It’s okay, it’s just what my eyes are watering. It’s a scratch to my eyeball … I’ve been through this with the right [eye]. Now it’s on the left,” Pacquiao said.
